Acapulco Gold is a pure sativa landrace originating from the Sierra Madre del Sur in Guerrero state, Mexico, near the Pacific coast city of Acapulco (~17°N latitude). Adapted to intense tropical solar radiation and a pronounced wet/dry seasonal cycle, it produces tall, open-structured plants (150-250 cm indoors, up to 300 cm outdoors) with wide internodal spacing, narrow 9-11 leaflet fan leaves, and elongated, airy inflorescences. The cultivar is distinguished by its golden-amber trichome coloration at maturity, from which its name derives. With a long flowering period of 10-12 weeks and vigorous sativa stretch (2-3x during flower transition), Acapulco Gold demands advanced height management and is best suited to experienced cultivators with adequate vertical space or outdoor/greenhouse environments in warm climates.
