About This Plant

Welsh Onion, also known as bunching onion or scallion, is a perennial, non-bulbing species of onion grown primarily for its hollow, green leaves and thick white stalks. It is a hardy, frost-tolerant plant that is a staple in Asian cuisine. Unlike common onions, it does not form a large bulb and is harvested continuously or pulled whole for its mild, onion-like flavor.
